MADONNA’S TV CRUCIFIXION SCENE AXED

No stranger to controversy, Madonna has reached an agreement with NBC to do away with a scene for her upcoming Madonna: The Confessions Tour – Live From London TV concert special in which she is featured performing her hit “Live to Tell” suspended from a cross.

Network execs were made aware of public dissention when U.S. and European religious groups objected to the singer’s performance of the scene on her worldwide “Confessions” concert tour.

The singer, who serves as executive producer of the special, stands behind her original decision to perform the scene in an effort to encourage audiences to donate to AIDS charities. “I don’t think Jesus would be mad at me and the message I’m trying to send," Madonna told the Daily News in May.

Madonna’s two hour television special will air on NBC November 22 at 8 p.m.
