JOHN LENNON’S SON REFLECTS ON LIFE WITHOUT DAD

description

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 20 years since John Lennon was assassinated outside his apartment in New York. Now, two decades later, son Julian Lennon vents anger and frustration over his father’s death.

“A lot of people have phoned and e-mailed me with questions about the Beatles, and about Dad and what my thoughts are on the 20th anniversary of his death,” Julian, now 37, said on his website www.julianlennon.com.

Not surprisingly, he shows a great deal of resentment towards his father’s last wife, Yoko Ono. Julian was a product of John’s first marriage, which ended when he was only four years old.

“Although he was definitely afraid of fatherhood, the combination of that and his life with Yoko Ono led to the real break down of our relationship,” he explains on the site.

Julian reflects upon the anger he experienced after his father’s death. He puts much blame towards the former Beatle’s later peaceful outlook on life.

“There was a lot of anger in my life during my teens and twenties, because I didn’t understand what was going on or why things were the way they were,” he explains. “I had a great deal of anger towards Dad because of his negligence and his attitude to peace and love. That peace and love never came home to me.”

In the end, Julian envisions how his father would be today, had his tragic death never taken place.

I wonder what it would have been like if he were alive today. I guess it would have depended on whether he was “John Lennon” (Dad) or “John Ono Lennon” (manipulated lost soul).
