Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has been fighting a frightening, private battle for the past two years: an obsessed fan has been stalking her! But a Los Angeles judge has sent the creep to a lockdown mental facility where he’ll stay for at least the next six months.
Dante Michael Soiu began sending packages and emails to the actress in March 1999 — ranging from flowers and candy to pornography and letters with threatening, sexual messages.
Soiu even traveled from his home in Columbus, Ohio, to Gwyneth’s parents’ house in California. Gwyneth’s mom, Blythe Danner, asked him not to come back, but Soiu showed up again the next day.
The FBI stepped in and warned Soiu to leave the actress alone, which he did temporarily, but the crazed fan showed up again at the home of Gwyneth’s parents this past spring.
Los Angeles District Attorney Rhonda Saunders said the 28-year-old actress was “very pleased” Soiu was in custody.
