After years of living the life of a jet-setting supermodel, Christy Turlington has been diagnosed with early-stage emphysema. The 31-year-old — who smoked up to a pack a day between the ages of 13 and 26 — became an outspoken critic of cigarette smoking after her dad died from lung cancer in 1997. Dr. Claudia Henschke, a Cornell University radiology professor who reviewed Christy’s lung scan, told the Times of London that because the stunning brunette no longer smokes, her condition should not get any worse.
