Calista Flockhart fainted during a taping of an episode of Ally McBeal, and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for exhaustion and dehydration.
A spokesperson for Flockhart, Melissa Kates, stated that she was “treated intravenously” during her six-hour stay in the hospital and was released later that day to recuperate at home. She returned to work later in the week.
Kates stated that the cast and creative team have been under added stress since the arrest of their newest cast member, Robert Downey Jr., on November 25. “It’s been a tough month,” said Kates. “I think it’s been a stressful and emotional time on the set because everybody is concerned about Robert.”
