Bob Barker has decided to retire after 50 years on television. “I will be 83 years old on December 12,” he told The Associated Press, “and I’ve decided to retire while I’m still young.” The TV icon has hosted The Price Is Right for 35 years. He said, “I’ve gone on and on and on to this ancient age because I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m going to miss it.” CBS is planning a prime-time special celebrating The Price Is Right‘s longevity and Barker’s five decades on TV. Fremantle Media, who owns The Price Is Right, is reportedly looking for Barker’s replacement.
