Demi Moore is seething with jealousy over hubby Ashton Kutcher’s "crush" on cute, curvy and newly single – Kim Kardashian!
That’s the REAL story behind the cyber war that’s been raging between the two femme fatales, The ENQUIRER has learned.
Ashton, 32, and Kim, 29, struck up a friendship last year after she approached him to produce TV projects together – and Ashton’s been gushing about how "beautiful and intelligent" Kim is ever since, said a source.
"Ashton is a huge fan of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’ But Demi says she can’t even bear to watch."
Although the friendship has always been a sore spot for Demi, things have gotten worse since Kim’s recent split from Super Bowl champ Reggie Bush.
And despite being married for more than four years, Demi, 47, still grapples with insecurities over her and Ashton’s 15 year age difference, the source added.
"And Kim flirts like crazy with Ashton, which drives Demi nuts."
Demi’s dislike for the buxom brunette spilled over onto the Internet recently after Kim posted a sexy picture of herself and three girlfriends and captioned it "Big pimpin’…"
Demi lashed out on her Twitter page, saying: "No disrespect I love a girls night out but a pimp and pimping is nothing more than a slave owner! If we want to end slavery we need to stop glorifying the ‘pimp’ culture."
The brouhaha between the women came just days after Demi and Ashton announced the launch of a new campaign to urge the Haitian government to ban child slavery.
"Demi saw an opportunity to publicly embarrass Kim, so she took it. It was her way of saying, ‘back off,’" said the source.
Kim initially put up a friendly defense, pointing out that "pimpin’" is a pop culture phrase, as well as the name of the Jay-Z song she and her girlfriends were dancing to – but Demi wasn’t hearing it.
She tweeted: "Clearly Istirred up a s**t storm. But 2 create change U have 2 be willing 2 take a risk and be willing 2 provoke thought & conversation."
Unfortunately, Demi’s plan to put Kim in her place backfired.
"Ashton ended up chastising Demi for starting the fight," added the source.
