NEW INVESTIGATION INTO SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF DREW PETERSON'S EX-WIFE
"He wants me dead!"
A terrified Kathleen
Savio made that chilling
charge in a prophetic request for
a protection order against her
ex-husband, police Sgt. Drew
Peterson - now a suspect in the
disappearance of his current wife
Stacy.
On March 1, 2004, Kathleen's
lifeless body was found in her
bathtub. Her hair was soaked in
blood from a head wound. Bruises
covered seven other parts of her
body. There was no water in the tub.
Astonishingly, a coroner's
inquest ruled the death an
accidental drowning.
Forensic pathologist Dr. Daniel
Spitz, medical examiner in Macomb
County, Mich., examined the
autopsy and inquest transcript for
The ENQUIRER - and was stunned
by the ruling.
"People don't drown in bathtubs,"
said Dr. Spitz. "I would have told the
police I think this is a homicide. You
need to go and investigate this like
a homicide."
In testimony at the inquest,
Kathleen's sister Sue said her sister
suffered years of physical abuse
at the hands of Peterson - and
revealed Kathleen said that
"if she would die, it may look like
an accident, but it wasn't."
At the time of her gruesome
death, Kathleen was battling
her husband Drew in court over
property and financial matters.
"Before my sister was even put in
the grave, everything was cleaned
out of the house," Sue testified.
