LACI MOM'S SHOWDOWN WITH SCOTT
By JANE RIDLEY
Scott Peterson's mother-in-law demanded he
confess to his wife Laci's
murder in a fiery phone
confrontation, a blockbuster
new book reveals.
"You killed my daughter, didn't you?"
Sharon Rocha insisted. "Stop lying.
I'm tired of your lies. You have looked
me in the eyes for weeks and been lying.
Now where is she?"
Sharon tells of her
desperate plea in her
sensational new book,
For Laci: A Mother's
Story of Love, Loss
And Justice, which
chronicles her heartache
over the brutal
deaths of Laci and her
unborn son Conner.
In one of many
bombshell disclosures
she admits for the first
time that she refused
to wear a police wire to
record conversations
with Scott because she
was terrified he might
kill her, too.
"If he could murder
Laci, he could do that
to me," she told detectives.
"I don't want to be
in a room with Scott."
And she speaks movingly of her
visions of Laci from beyond the grave,
when Laci asks: "Mom, why did Scott
kill me? I didn't want to die."
