NEW GOVERNMENT REPORT: PAROLE AGENTS IGNORED SIGNS OF JAYCEE’S IMPRISONMENT

description

Repeatedly over 18 years, authorities came heartbreakingly close to ending Jaycee Dugard’s tragic imprisonment. But again and again, parole officers failed to recognize obvious signs that convicted rapist Phillip Garrido was holding her hostage, according to a shocking new government report.

Incredibly, parole agents visited 58-year-old Garrido at his Antioch, Calif., home AT LEAST 60 TIMES during the 10 years he was on probation.

But time and again, they ignored clues that something was terribly wrong at the home – clues that could have led to the rescue of Jaycee and the two daughters Garrido fathered with her.

According to the report issued by the California Office of the Inspector General, parole agents never questioned Garrido about clearly visible utility lines that led to the madman’s hidden maze of shacks and tents in his backyard.

They also failed to interview neighbors, including one who had spoken to Jaycee just weeks after her kidnapping.

One agent even ignored the presence of a young girl at the sex offender’s home.

“Failures resulted in several missed opportunities to discover the existence of Garrido’s three victims that he held captive,” the report states.
