‘MY BROTHER KILLED MY BROTHER’

description

"My brother Stanley Elias Eckard killed my other brother and buried him in my mom and dad’s backyard,” a frantic woman sobbed to a 911 dispatcher.

“Please, please, please,” the woman begged as she watched her father dig up the body of her youngest brother, 19-year-old Sean. “My dad is digging him out of the ground. Oh, my God. He’s screaming. He’s over the body.”

The bizarre family murder drama began Friday, June 18, when Sean Eckard disappeared. At 3 a.m. Saturday morning, his mother Donna saw Sean’s brother Stanley, 21, digging a hole in the side yard of their home in Spring Hill, Fla.

When she asked what he was doing, Stanley said he was burying his ex-girlfriend’s clothes because he was “tired of looking at them,” said Hernando County (Fla.) Sheriff Richard Nugent.

But the family grew suspicious when Sean didn’t come home that night – or for the next three days. His concerned sister Jennifer went to her parents’ home to discuss the bizarre situation.

“Mom, we need to dig up that hole,” Jennifer insisted. “What’s in that hole?”

Frightened but determined, Donna said: “Let’s go.”

Her husband Sam, a church custodian, immediately started digging. What he found horrified the family.

“He uncovered the arms and legs of his son and then collapsed,” said Sheriff Nugent.

During Jennifer’s harrowing call to 911, Stanley is heard shouting in the background: “Don’t call the cops!”

But Jennifer countered: “You can’t scare me. They’re already on the way.”

Stanley was still at the house when police arrived, and he was taken in for questioning.

Detectives said Stanley told them he was choking his brother during a fight and that Sean had died after the two of them fell to the floor. Stanley said he decided to bury his brother in the yard, but planned to move the body a few weeks later when his parents were out of town.

A law enforcement insider said the two were fighting over a woman.
