When 37-year-old Lisa Clark made headlines around the world for getting pregnant and marrying her son’s 15-year-old best friend in 2005, people said their twisted romance wouldn’t last.
But five years later the two have proved the world wrong – they’re still happily married and raising their second child!
“This goes to show that love has no boundaries, but it’s been one heck of a battle,” Lisa told The ENQUIRER in a world exclusive interview.
“We’ve both been through extensive counseling, and it’s made us stronger and closer.”
Her husband Adrian Gonzalez, now a stay-at- home dad, added: “I knew that Lisa and I would last. She is the love of my life, and I plan to be with her forever.”
The couple shocked the nation when they married in November 2005 using a nearly 50-year-old Georgia state law that allowed youngsters under 16 to wed if the bride is pregnant.
Adrian was in ninth grade at the time, and after his distraught grandmother called police, cradle-robber Lisa was arrested and charged with child molestation. Three months later she delivered their son Skye in jail.
Already a mother of three, Lisa gave custody of Skye to a former co-worker with the agreement that Skye would be returned when she was freed from prison.
After serving nine months for statutory rape, plus another two years for helping her young husband escape from a group home, Lisa was released from jail in February 2008.
She reunited with Adrian, and the couple had a second child – daughter Star, now 22 months old.
