BANK TELLER FIRED FOR NABBING ROBBER

description

It was just another ordinary day at work for bank teller Jim Nicholson on July 28 – until a man wearing a beanie, dark clothing and sunglasses pushed a black backpack across Jim’s counter and demanded he fill it with money.

Instinct kicked in immediately, and Jim pushed the bag to the floor and leaped over the counter to grab the would-be robber. The bad guy took off, but Jim wasn’t ready to give up!

Jim, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 185 pounds, chased the crook for two blocks, yelling at passers-by to call the cops.

“I grabbed him, put his hands behind his back and swept his legs out from under him,” says Jim. “I pinned him to the ground until the cops arrived minutes later and carted him off to jail.”

But instead of being hailed as a hero when he returned to work, Jim was FIRED by the bank for breaking company policy. In the interest of public safety, tellers are instructed not to resist criminals.

“I know we’re supposed to give in immediately to bank robbers, but I just couldn’t,” admits Jim, 30. “I didn’t want this guy to get away with his crime and go on to rob other banks.

“He was the bad guy – and I got fired for capturing him!”
