Hollywood's most famous faces were dressed to the nines for the Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year's theme, The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion, brought out A-Listers like Madonna and Rihanna in frocks you wouldn't see on a normal red carpet.

While some played it safe in sequins (like Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler), others chose fringe (Kirsten Dunst) and billowy ball gowns (Heidi Klum).
