Hunt intensifies for ex-love of Olivia Newton-John.
Detectives believe Patrick McDermott faked his own death after disappearing four years ago in the wake of escalating debt.
"He’s alive. There’s no doubt in my mind, this guy’s alive," chief investigator Patrick Klein, who was hired by NBC’s Dateline told UK tab Daily Telegraph.
McDermott who dated the Aussie pop star for nine years vanished in June 2005.
He’s not wanted for any crimes nor is he wanted by US authorities.
Olivia Newton-John has moved on with her life marrying John Easterling and her rep has declined to comment.
Klein who’s been on the hunt for the NBC "news" program smells blood.
"When he raises his head, he’s not just going to have 20 eyes looking for him, he’s going to have a million eyes looking for him," Klein claimed and his website for tipsters received more 3,000 bogies since the special aired last week.
And the point of this international dragnet? Guess "fugitive" McDermott owes somebody some money.
