In a stunning world exclusive, The ENQUIRER can reveal that after surviving a four-year battle with deadly cancer, former “Laverne & Shirley” star PENNY MARSHALL plans to come out of the closet!

“Penny says that with her medical problems finally behind her, she’s going to live her life to the fullest and she doesn’t care a rat’s a** if people have a problem with it,” a family insider told The ENQUIRER. “Penny now wants to live the rest of her life without hiding anything.”

The ENQUIRER has also learned that Penny’s longtime partner is an A-list celebrity with a Hollywood pedigree.

“She wanted to come out with Penny a long time ago, but she didn’t want to add to Penny’s stress while she was going through cancer treatment,” the source explained.

In 2009, The ENQUIRER was first to report that Penny – who’s directed big screen hits including “Big” and “A League of Their Own” – was suffering from a brain tumor. And shortly after docs removed it, she was diagnosed with deadly liver cancer.

Fortunately, grueling radiation and chemotherapy treatments seem to have worked, as doctors declared Penny cancer-free by the time she turned 70 in October.
