WONDER WOMAN SECRETS

description

With the controversial move to strip WONDER WOMAN of her iconic red – white – and – blues for ren-faire pixie chic, what’s the TRUTH behind the creation of the greatest American heroine?

In the late 1930s, after cornering the fledgling market in comic book heroics with both Superman and Batman,  the publisher was looking for a hat-trick to bring in female readers to the nascent industry.

Enter Dr. WILLIAM MOULTON MARSTON, famed psychologist and inventor, who had been interviewed in a magazine about the potential educational value of "funny books".

Marston was soon hired as a consultant by All- American Comics (part of  DC Comics).

Using a pen name, Charles Moulton, and working with artist HG Peter, Marston devised the story of "Suprema", a super-powered woman in a man’s world.

Her name was promptly changed to "Wonder Woman" by the editor.

Yet, Marston’s two female lovers – his wife Elizabeth and  Olive Byrne who both lived with him in a polyamorous relationship, served as inspiration for the love triangle between Wonder Woman, her secret identity Diana Prince and flyboy BF Steve Trevor.

More importantly, Marston  gave WW a lasso of truth to use in her fight for justice.

When ensnared in the lasso, one would be compelled to tell the truth and it was based on Marston’s own invention — the lie detector.

The lie detector test, best known today as the polygraph test, is used by law enforcement and intelligence agencies worldwide — AND The ENQUIRER — to separate truth from deception.

Launched in the midst of World War 2, Wonder Woman has clobbered enemies of freedom, been labeled a feminist icon by Ms. Mag honcho Gloria Steinem, was the titular star of a hit TV show embodied by Lynda Carter and transcended politics for nearly 70 years as a symbol of hope and the American Dream to a world audience .

That is, until now….

"With producers trying to launch a new Wonder Woman movie, they need to change her image for the rest of the world," a Hollywood insider told the ENQUIRER exclusively.

"The majority of film revenue is generated from overseas markets, even if it bombs in the US.

"And wearing red-white-and blue these days is a label Hollywood wants to avoid if they want to make a buck."
