As new photos showed actor WILLIAM HURT looking extremely gaunt, The National ENQUIRER has learned he secretly battled prostate cancer three years ago.
The Oscar winner, 65, was photographed in New York while promoting his AMC sci-fi drama, “Humans.”
“He’s a tall guy which makes him look thinner anyway,” according to an eyewitness at the event. “But he looks like he’s lost a ton of weight.”
A spokesperson for the star confirmed “he was diagnosed and treated for prostrate cancer three years ago.” He “is in remission,” the rep added.
“William has been working professionally the entire time and is in the best shape of his life.” The star has been sober since a rehab stint in the ’80s.
In the wake of his health scare, “He’s determined to be around for a long time,” added a source.
