Country superstar Miranda Lambert is doing a happy dance now that hubby Blake Shelton has ended his bromance with fellow “Voice” mentor Adam Levine to pal around with Usher!
Blake and Adam grew close during the first three seasons of the hit NBC show, but now that Usher and Shakira have joined the cast – replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green – their relationship appears to be falling apart.
And that’s just fine with Miranda – because she’s always thought the 34-year-old Maroon 5 frontman was a bad influence on her husband.
“Adam and Blake did a lot of carousing carousing around Los Angeles (where ‘The Voice’ is taped),” a friend said. “The two played hard and partied hard, and Blake would brag to Miranda about going over to Adam’s house and seeing a bunch of models in bikinis hanging out by his pool.
“Miranda can’t be in Los Angeles all the time with Blake since she’s out touring – and the rumors about him flirting drove her crazy.”
Meanwhile, Usher, 34, is a devoted single dad raising his two sons – Usher V, 5, and Naviyd, 4 – after a nasty custody battle with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.
“Miranda wants kids someday, and she thinks Usher’s a great role model for Blake,” said the friend. “Usher is this hot and handsome guy who can be a dad and still be cool.”
As “The Voice” moves into their live shows, Blake, 36, will be spending more time in Los Angeles, where Miranda won’t be able to keep her eye on him.
“As far as she’s concerned,” said the friend, “the less time Blake spends with Adam and the more time he spends with Usher, the better.”
