WHITNEY SEPARATES FROM BOBBY!

description

After 14 stormy years of marriage, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are calling it quits for good!

Whitney, 43, has filed for legal separation in a California court, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

Using the name “Whitney Elizabeth” (her first and middle name), the “I Will Always Love You” singer filed the papers in the Orange County Superior Court on Sept. 8, citing irreconcilable differences.

Whitney has asked the court for custody of her and Bobby’s 13-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

But the couple, who’ve had a rocky relationship throughout their marriage, won’t be battling over their assets. A prenuptial agreement ensures that “all property is separate property” — so Whitney will easily walk away with the lion’s share of the couple’s fortune.

The Grammy-winning entertainer has also asked the court to relieve her of any spousal support to 37-year-old Bobby, who is identified in the papers by his first and middle name, “Robert Beresford.”

Whitney and Bobby were married on July 18, 1992, but their troubles began shortly after the “I Do’s” were said. They split up for the first time less than a year after the wedding.

In 1995, the two admitted to having “marital difficulties” and split up again.

Whitney and Bobby have each battled serious substance abuse problems throughout the marriage, with both doing stints in rehab clinics. Bobby has been charged with battery for abusing Whitney and has been caught cheating on multiple occasions.

In recent years, The ENQUIRER has exposed Whitney’s serious cocaine addiction and how it’s destroying her voice, career and already-troubled marriage.

When asked about his wife in January, Bobby told a group of female fans, “We ain’t together no more. We’re getting a divorce.”
