Who will be watching The Watchmen when it opens?

The big screen adaptation directed by Zack Snyder (300) of the celebrated graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons that put the dark in caped crusaders hits theatres March 2009.

The grim alternate reality saga stars Billy Crudup as nuclear physician Dr. Manhattan whose atomic accident transforms him into a god-like amoral being.

Also starring are Carla Gugino as heroine Silk Spectre, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as decidedly not-funny Comedian, Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley as the psychotic Rorschach and Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl.

Already the biggest film buzz on the web, Watchmen will unveil its videogame prequel, prior to the films release with a 2nd vidgame to follow timed to pic’s release.

Published by DC Comics as a mini-series in 1989 before being collected into trade paperback, Watchmen is the only graphic novel to win the prestigious Hugo Award and be named to Time Magazine‘s "100 Best English Language Novels from 1923 to the Present."
