VIOLA DAVIS ADOPTION AGONY

The baby girl adopted by “The Help” star VIOLA DAVIS and her husband is the child of a drug-addicted prostitute, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

And in another bombshell, we can reveal that the couple may adopt a second child from the prostitute, who is pregnant again!

The woman’s first baby, Genesis, was taken from her custody by authorities shortly after her birth when traces of drugs were found in her system, sources say.

“Viola knows the girl’s biological mother, and when she learned the baby would likely go into a foster home, she stepped up,” a source revealed.

“She and her husband had been considering adoption long before the opportunity to adopt Genesis came along, so in some ways the agonizing situation was a blessing in disguise.

“Viola hasn’t publicly disclosed the details surrounding Genesis’ adoption because she’s trying to protect the biological mother.”

Police reports obtained exclusively by The ENQUIRER reveal that Genesis’ mother – whose identity is being withheld – was arrested for prostitution in 2005 and 2006. Law enforcement officials reported she was offering to perform sex acts on the street for as little as $30.

“The woman had begun using crack and heroin about eight years ago and turned to prostitution to support her habit,” revealed a second source.

She pleaded no contest both times, and was sentenced to six months probation, and substance abuse and AIDS counseling each time, records show.

In 2010, she got in trouble with the law again and pleaded no contest to a simple assault charge. In that case, she was sentenced to 90 days in jail, one year probation, substance abuse counseling, AIDS counseling and court-ordered AIDS testing, according to official records.

When the woman gave birth nearly 19 months ago, traces of drugs were found in the newborn’s system, sources say.

“The Department of Children, Youth and Families immediately stepped in and took custody of the baby,” said the second source.

“She resisted efforts to place her baby with another family, but there was no way she could have properly cared for the child.”

The adoption was revealed in October when actress Octavia Spencer, Viola’s close friend and co-star in “The Help,” spilled the beans during a speech honoring Viola at an event in Los Angeles.

Viola, 46 – a two-time Tony Award winner – later confirmed that she and her husband, 58-year-old actor Julius Tennon, “brought home a few days ago” a baby girl named Genesis.

Meanwhile, Viola and Julius, who has two children from a previous relationship, could adopt again, sources say.

“Genesis’ mother is pregnant again and will give birth in about three months,” revealed the second source. “If she loses custody of this baby, Viola and Julius are considering stepping up again and adopting so the child   won’t be sent to a foster home.”
