“MODERN FAMILY” star ERIC STONESTREET may be searching for Ms. Right, but he’ll settle for Ms. RIGHT Now!
The chunky, love-troubled actor admitted during a Jan. 29 interview with satellite radio host Howard Stern that he’s been using the hot new mobile app Tinder to meet single women. The app, which is geared toward quick hookups, allows users to see photos of nearby potential “matches” and then connects users if they both want to meet.
“Eric’s career is flying high, but his love life is in the dumps,” disclosed an insider. “In Hollywood, most women want thin, hunky man-candy. Eric isn’t typically handsome, and an added handicap for him is that most women assume he’s gay like his ‘Modern Family’ character.
“Eric says it’s an uphill battle to find love – or even just a woman interested in dating him.”
During their chat Eric told the shock jock that he has more luck finding women with Tinder than he does in real life – he says he’s been meeting up to 10 gals a week!
Eric, 42, who plays gay dad Cameron Tucker on the hit ABC sitcom, has been single since his three-year romance with theater dancer/ actress Katherine Tokarz ended in 2012. “He never really recovered, especially since Katherine wound up happily married after their split,” confided the source.
While Eric has found success on Tinder, he admitted to Stern that he ultimately wants to settle down and have a family.
“Eric doesn’t expect to find his future wife this way,” the source added. “It’s just a means of filling the gap in his love life.”
