The White House released a longer version of PRESIDENT OBAMA's birth certificate Wednesday morning, following a media blitz by DONALD TRUMP questioning the validity of it.
"Today I'm very proud of myself, because I've accomplished something that no one else has been able to accomplish," Trump said. "Our president has finally released a birth certificate."
Obama said he hopes releasing the document will encourage the American people to focus other issues, like the looming budget debate. "I'm confident the American people and America's political leaders can come together in a bipartisan way and solve these problems," he said.
Meanwhile, Trump says he thinks he can beat Obama if he runs for president. "I think if I do run I'll do very well. Look, I'm already leading the polls and I'm not running."
