LATEST UPDATES: Bahamas police grill suspects in Travolta extortion investigation.

Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater, a Grand Bahama attorney was arrested and charged with aidIng and abetting extortion and conspiracy.  She  was released late Friday on $40,000 bail, Assistant Superintendent of Police Loretta Mackey revealed to media.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Marvin Dames
said a second suspect, Tarino Lightbourne, an ambulance driver, was detained by police today.  Lightbourne was present when attempts were made to revive John Travolta’s son Jett, 16,  who died en route to the hospital from the family vacation home.

Lightbourne is still in police custody and was picked up after police issued a wanted bulletin for attempted extortion and that he was "considered dangerous and should be approached with caution."

Former tourism minister Obie Wilchcombe, a member of  parliament, was also detained by police.

Wilchcombe, a Travolta family friend,  who had publicly denounced the extortion attempt, was released "pending further investigations."

Bahamas authorities have not divulged any details of the alleged plot. Travolta’s publicist has issued a "No comment."
