One of America’s most beloved voices has been silenced by the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease!

In a heartbreaking twist, singer GLEN CAMPBELL can no longer speak, The National ENQUIRER has exclusively learned.

The “Rhinestone Cowboy,” 79, has lost the ability to carry on a conversation, with the exception of a mumbled “I love you,” a close family pal revealed.

His wife, Kim, 56, confirmed the sad turn of events in his ongoing health battle: “He has a hard time understanding what people say to him.”

Tragically, Glen losing his voice indicates the superstar is entering Stage 7 of Alzheimer’s, which doctors consider to be the disease’s final stage.

The “Gentle on My Mind” and “Wichita Lineman” hitmaker has been living in a Nashville care facility since April 2014.

“He still knows who I am,” added Kim. “He’s physically strong, content and jovial.”

While Kim and daughter Ashley, 28, regularly visit, Kim has restricted access to his older kids.

Son Travis has called his dad’s confinement “unbelievably cruel.”

He, along with Glen’s children from a previous marriage, assert Kim has “prevented them from “participating” in his medical care.
