JOHN DYE, best known for playing Andrew the Angel of Death on religo-series Touched by Angel has died himself at age 47.
Dye died at his home in San Francisco from a heart attack.
The Mississippi-born Dye joined the ensemble cast of Touched By An Angel, as the "Angel of Death," in 1995, a year after it debuted on the Tiffany Net.
Dye remained with the show until its final season in 2003.
Other film /TV appearances were in Making the Grade with Judd Nelson, Billionaire Boys Club and The Best of the Best with Eric Roberts.
His brother Jerry Dye confirmed his brother’s passing.
“Dear, sweet John Dye, rest in peace,” costar Valerie Bwertinelli Tweeted.
