Tori Spelling has signed on to star in a new reality show called “True Tori” set to air on the Lifetime network.

But she’s only doing it to “humiliate” her husband Dean McDermott!

According to a presser from Lifetime, the show will feature “the real story will be told as it should be, by Tori Spelling herself” and claims that Tori “has made the courageous decision to allow the audience to witness the most difficult and unpredictable period in her life.”

The release goes on to say that the series will focus on Tori, 40, but also promises to reveal whether her marriage with McDermott, 47, will survive.

But according to a source, McDermott “is far from being a willing participant. He felt extremely pressured by Tori to do the reality show. Tori told him they had to do it because their fans want to know what is going on with their marriage. Too bad Dean doesn’t feel that way”.

“This should be a time of reflection, introspection, healing and figuring out what the next step is for them. The last thing Dean wants to deal with is production schedules and cameras. He asked Tori to wait a few months before doing the reality show, he just needs some time…but she insisted it had to be now. Reluctantly Dean agreed because he feels this is all his fault.”

All this comes amid talk of financial hardship for Tori and Dean – last month Tori closed her antique store, and Dean was recently spotted shopping for groceries at Smart and Final, a discount warehouse chain in L.A., RadarOnline reported.

Yet sources deny a financial motive for Tori’s new show: “Tori isn’t doing the latest reality show for the money…. Lifetime is only paying her $100,000 for the project.”
