As The ENQUIRER first previously reported, Simon Cowell will leave American Idol after this season.
Simon and Fox confirmed his Idol exit today.
TV’s very own rude boy, Simon, whop produces Idol wants to concentrate on his other show The X-Factor, a show he created that is already a smash in the UK.
The US version of X-Factor will air on Fox next year.
"I was offered a lot of money to stay on," Cowell said at a meeting of the Television Critics Association.
"But that wasn’t the reason behind it.
I wanted to do something different. I wanted a new challenge."
Cowell made a reported $36 million a year helming American Idol and is the main reason for the singing competition’s popularity – no one does snark better than Simon.
It is unknown how much Cowell will net from Fox for the new show.
