Katie Winslet took both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes. And Heath Ledger’s Joker wins too!
Winslet scored for both Revolutionary Road and The Reader.
The late Heath Ledger snared his for The Dark Knight – which pundits say make him a shoo-in for the first posthumous Oscar nod since Peter Finch won in 1976 for Network. The Academy Award noms will be announced January 22, ironically, the one-year anniversary of Ledger’s death from drug overdose.
Slumdog Millionaire scored the big four in all its categories nominated including Best Picture and director Danny Boyle.
Bruce Springsteen won for best original song for The Wrestler as did star, the come-back kid, Mickey Rourke who took Best Actor in a Drama.
In TV-land Mad Men, 30 Rock and John Adams were winners.
The Big Three: Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise went home empty handed.
