TAYLOR SWIFT’s technically separated parents accused of being “difficult and controlling stage parents” as they assume total control over her career.
The New York Post reported that sources say that Scott and Andrea Swift have pushed out key employees at their company, 13 Management, as well as agents at CAA and WME.
Possibly feeling the heat, Taylor’s long-time publicist of nearly seven years, Paula Erickson, resigned after giving notice. Taylor’s business managers also resigned last year.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s parents, Scott and Andrea, live separately and don’t see eye to eye over how to manipulate Taylor’s career and her “faux” romances to spur “sympathy songwriting”.
An anonymous source told Page Six, “They want to pay as little as possible and treat people like s**t, because they think those people are lucky to have the chance to work with a superstar like Taylor.”
And it gets worse.
Reportedly, Taylor’s parents disagree on just about everything and can’t even stand to be in the same room together.
Taylor’s parents, who married in 1988, have been living separately but did not divorce “because they don’t want to damage Taylor’s career.”
One thing they’re united on, however, is making millions from their daughter’s career.
“Taylor is incredibly smart and professional, but at some point she’s going to need her parents to stop, before it turns into a total Katherine Heigl ‘momager’ situation.”
