TAYLOR HICKS DROPPED FROM LABEL

description

Taylor Hicks of Season 5 is the latest American Idol winner to be released from J Records. Hicks sold 650,000 copies of his debut album last year; which was not up to the label’s expectations of an Idol winner. As a result, J Records, which is owned by RCA and run by music magnate Clive Davis, quietly dropped Hicks from his deal, reports the New York Post. This follows last month’s release of Idol Season 2 winner Ruben Studdard after three CDs.
