Academy award winning actress Tatum O’Neal has been busted for buying crack in New York City.
The 44 year-old O’Neal was nabbed by cops scoring the illegal substance Sunday evening near her home on Clinton Street in the Lower East Side.
O’Neal, the daughter of actor Ryan O’Neal, was the youngest person to win the Oscar for Paper Moon in 1973 at ten years old and was a series regular on Rescue Me.
O’Neal, who has three children with ex-hubby tennis great John McEnroe, wrote about her struggles with addiction in her 2004 memoir A Paper Life.
She told cops she was "doing researching for a part."
After they searched her, finding a bag of crack and one of coke with an unused crack pipe, the recovering addict changed her story.
She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
