SWAYZE CANCER SPREADS

description

Patrick Swayze‘s cancer has spread to his lungs, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

In late December – soon after taping his recently broadcast "20/20" interview with Barbara Walters – Swayze, 56, underwent a secret cancer operation to bypass a deadly stomach blockage, sources tell The ENQUIRER. Sadly, his condition continued to deteriorate.

Swayze, 56, was hospitalized in early January for what his reps say was pneumonia. It was also around this time that it was discovered the beloved star’s pancreatic cancer had reached his lungs, where it is interfering with his breathing.

Leading specialists consulted by The ENQUIRER describe that as a "very bad" sign – and an eyewitness who saw the star one day before his most recent hospitalization told The ENQUIRER: "Patrick has never looked worse. I’ve seen him many, many times, but this is by far the sickest he’s been – the guy was in obvious pain."

Dr. Herman Kattlove, a former spokesman for the American Cancer Society (ACS), told The ENQUIRER: "What may have appeared to be pneumonia was most likely cancer that spread to the lymphatic system and the lungs. Even with another round of chemotherapy, he has less than a 10 percent chance of recovering."
