SPIDEY 4 NO MORE

Marvel has officially canned Spider-Man 4 film with both star Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi replaced in favor of a reboot placing Puny Parker back in High School.

The director and star are ankling the franchise that pocketed nearly $2.5 billion worldwide.

But with the financial and critical failure of Spider-Man 3 with its Joel Schumacher- like multiple villains and out of place musical numbers there were many who said the Spidey helmers had lost  touch of what made the character unique and fun in the first place.

And as The ENQUIRER reported exclusively Marvel/Disney's preemptive federal lawsuit to retain their characters in a copyright war with artist Jack Kirby's heirs - especially Spider-Man - had pushed back the film in the projected release slot, substituting Thor instead.

According to multiple reports, Raimi's new script and concept for Spidey 4 were beyond bad -- "sheer crap" a Sony production insider revealed.
