It's official. Simon Cowell is getting married!

Beautiful Mezhgan Hussainy told RadarOnline.com exclusively that she and Simon are officially engaged.

They met on American Idol several years ago and what began as friendship slowly grew into love after Simon's previous relationship ended.

Mezhgan, 36, is an Afghanistan native and has been dating Simon for nearly a year, according to previous statements by Simon's publicist Max Clifford.

"They are very suited," Clifford said earlier. "She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He's probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I've been working with him."

Sporting a beautiful sparkling engagement ring,  Mezhgan was all smiles as she told RadarOnline.com exec David Perel exclusively that the couple, who are living together, are officially engaged. Reportedly, Simon popped the question on Valentine's Day, presenting his bride-to-be with a ring.
