Hidden behind SHANIA TWAIN‘s surprise New Year’s Day wedding is a baby secret!
Pals say the 45-year-old country superstar and her new husband, Nestle business executive Frederic Thiebaud, hope to have a little one very soon!
"Shania feels that having a baby with Frederic will make their new life complete," said a source close to the Grammy-winning singer.
"Ideally, she’d like to carry the child herself, but due to her age she hasn’t ruled out having a surrogate or adopting."
The couple exchanged vows at sunset in front of 40 friends and family members in Rincon, Puerto Rico, on New Year’s Day. They tied the knot outside a private mansion on the beach.
After Shania and Frederic were pronounced husband and wife, the wedding party serenaded them with the Beatles classic "All You Need Is Love."
Shania and Frederic, 40, became romantically involved in 2009 after finding solace with each other when their spouses had an affair that broke up both marriages.
They each have a 9-year-old child – Shania’s son Eja and Frederic’s daughter Johanna.
