Despite being named Sexiest Man Alive (this week) Hugh Jackman has been ducking innuendo ever since he played gay icon Peter Allen on Broadway in disco tuner The Boy from Oz.
The Australian star’s wife Deborra-Klee Furness whom the hunky thesp wed in 1996 is fed up with the gay bash fest.
Hugh revealed that his wife would be powdering her nose in the bathroom where she would hear the G-slander bandied about.
"She said the most infuriating times would be in the bathroom because all she’d hear is, ‘Is he or isn’t he gay?’
"’I don’t know, he’s married… Oh, who cares, I’m sure he’s gay.’
"And she used to call out from the stall, ‘He’s not gay. I’m telling you he’s not’," Jackman divulged.
"And there would be silence until someone said, ‘I think that’s his wife.’"
