With a former patient suing Dr. Phil and making shocking sexual allegations against him, the self-help guru’s already shaky 33-year marriage is on the verge of collapse!
The 59-year-old TV shrink is desperately worried over his show’s future, sources say, and blasting back at charges that he groped a female patient’s breast and forced a naked man on her.
The stress is making him lash out at his wife Robin, 55, and insiders fear the tension between them could lead to a divorce battle over their $200 million fortune.
"Phil blows up at Robin, and his latest troubles have accelerated their personal problems," a close source divulged. "Robin isn’t sure if the TV show – or their marriage – will survive."
The self-help guru is in the middle of a $75 million contract that’s due to keep Dr. Phil on the air through 2014. But according to recently released ratings, the show has lost 27 percent of its audience from last season.
Overall, it’s slipped to number 15 in the syndicated rankings and has 3.2 million viewers – less than half the seven million viewers who watched Dr. Phil back in 2002.
The daytime host faces another crisis in the wake of a lawsuit filed by Shirley Dieu in Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming Dr. Phil "touched her left breast" during a therapy session and also forced her to "be in the same room with a completely naked man while he exposed his entire body, genitals and all."
The incidents took place in 2007 when Dieu was living in the "Dr. Phil House" for a series of TV episodes called "House of Judgment."
Dieu told The ENQUIRER: "Dr. Phil is a fraud, and a pervert. Not only did he grab a free feel, he embarrassed me, humiliated me and hurt me mentally."
Another contestant who lived in the "Dr. Phil House" with Dieu backs up her claims that Dr. Phil sent the naked man into the house.
"Dr. Phil appeared on a TV monitor and told us the doorbell would ring and we would be getting a birthday cake or something," Kimberly Brown told The ENQUIRER.
"Instead, a completely naked guy entered the house. He started touching himself, fondling his private parts and then sat down at the table with us!
"Shirley, the other women and I walked out! It was later explained to me that this was a way for ‘Dr. Phil to teach us about tolerance,’ but I was really offended and considered filing a lawsuit of my own."
A spokesman for Dr. Phil called the claims in Dieu’s lawsuit "without merit." But sources say the negative fallout from the legal action has driven an even bigger wedge between him and Robin.
And while Phil has repeatedly denied there’s trouble between them, The ENQUIRER has reported that he’s secretly been preparing for a possible divorce and a battle over the couple’s $200 million fortune.
The source said: "Robin had warned Phil that if one more scandal erupted, it would sever their marriage for good, and this could be IT."
