SECRET WITNESS TO TESTIFY IN DAVID COPPERFIELD RAPE CASE

description

A bombshell secret eyewitness has agreed to testify against magician David Copperfield in a shocking lawsuit that charges he raped a young Seattle woman on his private island in the Bahamas two years ago, The ENQUIRER reports exclusively.

Copperfield’s former chauffeur John St. John claims the troubled illusionist once tried to force himself on another woman in the back of his limousine -allegations that could demonstrate a prior history of sexual misconduct.

The alleged victim in the 2007 Bahamian rape case has filed a civil suit against the magician in federal court in which she says he assaulted her THREE times during her stay on the island.

"I’ve described everything to the FBI, and I’m happy to be a witness for the prosecution," limo driver St. John told The ENQUIRER in an exclusive interview. "I want to do all I can to help this woman. I want to make sure that justice is done."

In September 1996, St. John drove Copperfield after a performance at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre. At the time, the performer was engaged to model Claudia Schiffer.

According to St. John, Copperfield asked to be driven to By Ward Market, a popular nightlife area in Ottawa, where the magician spotted a tall, leggy blonde walking down the street alone. Copperfield persuaded the woman to join him in the back of the limo, and the magician activated the privacy divider, which hides the backseats from the driver’s view, says the chauffeur.

"Soon after I drove off, I realized something was wrong," recalled St. John.

"They were struggling, and I heard raised voices. I could hear the girl saying, ‘No! Get off me!’ and ‘Stop it!’

"Just before I did something about it, David called me on the car’s intercom saying, ‘Take me back!’

"When I got back with them to the National Arts Centre, David stormed out of the car and shouted to me, ‘Take the bitch home!’"

The ENQUIRER has found no record of an assault being filed during the time the incident allegedly occurred, but St. John has passed an independently conducted lie detector test regarding the incident. He has also been interviewed by the FBI.

"I’m happy to testify about what happened," added St. John. "The world needs to know."

Craig Silverman,
former Denver Chief Deputy District Attorney told The ENQUIRER: "St. John’s testimony may tip the scales of justice against Copperfield. Prior provable incidents of forced sex are generally admissible against an accused rapist."
