Sean Penn and Robin Wright‘s first date was something out of mondo bizarro!
The superstar couple of twelve years are still together after a brief split earlier this year.
Robin Wright Penn attributes their lasting bond to Sean’ sense of twisted humor — beginning with their very first date.
"I walked in, the door was ajar," Robin recalled. "We were going to dinner. He said, ‘I’ll be right in’.
"Five minutes later, he came in wearing cowboy boots, a jock strap, a pith helmet and a bowtie on.
"I think that’s probably why I’m with him, because I’d never seen that on a first date before."
At least Spicoli didn’t bring his gnarly board and Mr. Hand to woo Princess Buttercup!
