Oscar winner Denzel Washington returned to his boyhood home of Mount Vernon, New York, to tell it like it really is!
Denzel and his wife Pauletta presented two national scholarship awards to high school students who excelled in science. The awards were funded by the neuroscience department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Denzel spoke passionately to the inner city youngsters.
"Most of you won’t be an actor or a rapper," he revealed. "But you’ve all been blessed with brains.
"You all have the opportunity to use those brains to better yourself. All you have to do is reach and stretch and get.
"It’s here for you."
In other words: D sez science is the shnizzle – ok?
