SANDRA BULLOCK’s SHOCKING CONFESSION: I DON’T NEED A MAN!!!

SANDRA BULLOCK says that her late mother, Helga, taught her she doesn’t need a man in her life – and she’s taken that lesson to heart.

The revelation came in a recent interview with a British newspaper – and sources say it may be a sign that the unlucky-in-love actress is ready to stop looking for a partner to help her raise her 3-year-old son, Louis.

“My mother raised me not to depend on a man for anything,” she said in the interview. But, she admitted: “I may have taken that to extremes.”

As The ENQUIRER recently reported, it looked like romance was brewing between Sandra and her “Gravity” co-star George Clooney as they promoted the film in Europe over the summer. But now George reportedly has a new young girlfriend, and Sandra insists she and the hunk are just friends.

“Sandra may be saying she’s learned the hard way that she can’t depend on the men in her life,” a source told The ENQUIRER. “As she closes in on age 50, the strength of her strong-willed mother may enable her to do without a man.”

Sandra’s mom was a German opera singer and voice teacher who died of colon cancer in 2000 at the age of 63.

“Sandra is no doubt still inspired by her mom,” said the source. “And she may now believe that despite being lonely at times, it’s better than the alternative, which is having your heart broken. She doesn’t want to go through that kind of pain again.”

Just days after winning an Oscar for “The Blind Side” in March 2010, Sandra learned that her husband of nearly five years, badboy biker Jesse James, had been cheating on her. Sandra filed for divorce soon after.

Now 49, Sandra is one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actress. But she says she’s choosing her son over a lot of work these days.

“I had prepared for this part of my life to be filled with things which do not involve a camera,” she explained. “So I am blessed with more opportunities, but I am going to be taking fewer of them.”
