SANDRA BULLOCK’s friends are urging the unlucky-in-love beauty to rev up her longtime friendship with “Speed” co-star KEANU REEVES.
The Oscar-winning “Blind Side” actress and the boyishly handsome star of the “Matrix” trilogy have shared a platonic bond since the early ’90s.
But sources say the two have decided to spend more time together after reuniting for an intimate dinner recently – and both are open to their friendship blossoming into a romance, an insider divulged.
On Oct. 26, the two enjoyed a quiet meal at Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood with their mutual publicist.
“They had wine and pasta in a corner booth, talked over a possible new project – and there was a spark between them like never before,” revealed the insider.
In order to keep their budding new relationship on the down-low, Sandra, 47, slipped out the back of the restaurant while Keanu, also 47, left through the main entrance and sped off in a Porsche.
“Sandy’s friends have been pushing her to give a romance with Keanu a shot – he knows her better than almost anyone and has been a dear friend to her for years,” said the insider.
“And Keanu’s pals have been on him to settle down. They think Sandy would be the perfect woman to ground the loner actor because she’s happy in her career and settled into motherhood.”
Keanu and Sandra, who has a 22-month-old adopted son, Louis, first on the set of “Speed” in 1993.
In 2006, they joined forces again in the romantic drama “The Lake House.” And as The ENQUIRER previously reported, Keanu was a pillar of support for Sandra when her cheating ex-husband Jesse James released a tell-all book in the spring.
“After being hurt so badly by Jesse, Sandy has a hard time trusting,” noted the insider. “But she trusts Keanu with all her heart and is willing to see where it leads.”
