ROYAL HUNT OF DEATH! KATE MIDDLETON TARGETED

Livid over death hunt, activists take aim at KATE MIDDLETON and they want her to muzzle hubby PRINCE WILLIAM!

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) have targeted Kate and William aka The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for bird hunting, a royal tradition that is centuries old.

Reportedly, William purchased 250 pheasants, ducks and partridges for a shoot at the Queen's Sandringham Estate to mark his bro playboy Prince Harry’s 27th birthday.

In a letter penned to the Royal couple, PETA Prexy Ingrid Newkirk urged  Kate to call off the royal hunt of death.

“We understand that Prince William has given a gift of ‘game birds’ to Prince Harry for his birthday.

“There is no honor in buying birds and reducing them, as if they were clay pigeons, to shooting targets. Those who aren't killed outright are often dispatched by having their necks wrung, which does not cause an instant or painless death,” Newkirk wrote.

“May I ask you to use your influence on the Princes and ask them to reconsider this gift? By cancelling the planned "day's sport" … they will win hearts and commendations and spare hundreds of birds a terrifying end, making it clear that the monarchy is in tune with the social movement against cruelty to animals.”

While official reps for Kate and William haven’t responded publicly, an animal rights expert painted a different picture.

Jon Ballard of GameBirdHunts.com told Fox411, "Pheasants are a renewable resource and these stewards of the land have every right to take part in the harvest and the food chain."
