ROSIE’S PICTURE CONTROVERSY

description

Rosie O’Donnell stirred up controversy when the picture she posted yesterday on her blog showed her 4-year-old daughter Vivi wearing a toy bullet belt.

In response, O’Donnell, who has been an outspoken critic of the war for a long time and proponent of gun control, posted readers’ complaints about the image under the heading “a picture is worth a thousand posts.”

Responding to those complaints O’Donnell posted a video of Vivi on her Web site, entitled “Last year a princess” under the heading “Dress Up.” The clip is a little over a minute long and first show’s Vivi wearing very feminine and darling clothes while dancing to Cyndi Lauper‘s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” but after 50 seconds a new title emerges on the screen saying, “This year a soldier.” Now pictures of Vivi wearing controversial military outfit flood the screen for about 30 seconds and the video ends, “peace out.”

Though one concerned fan asked Rosie where she bought such “ammunition belts” as they are not sold on Toys R’ US, Rosie replied with the website buycostumes.com, which sells a replica of the Vivi’s plastic armor for $6.99.
