ROSIE O’DONNELL’s “Klingon” tendencies makes her son cringe!
Son Parker – who attends a $40,000-a-year military academy in Philadelphia – has become a laughingstock ever since the comedian started sending him “care packages” filled with goodies.
The parcels contain every¬thing from the 16-year-old’s favorite snacks to warm blankets and even a stuffed toy, but the well-intentioned booty from home has given fellow recruits plenty of ammunition to fire at the youngster.
“Some of the kids got wind of this and started to tease poor Parker,” a source told The ENQUIRER. “He’s been labeled a mommy’s boy!”
In desperation, Parker asked his doting but overbearing mom to quit sending things that make him look like a 10-year-old – but she hasn’t backed down, say insiders.
So now he cringes whenever he gets a package from Rosie, who recently landed a new talk show on the OWN channel. “He can’t take the embarrassment,” explained the source. “Every time he receives a package from his mother, his fellow students gather around him snickering as they wait for him to open it.”
It’s not the first time Rosie has managed to embarrass Parker at the Valley Forge Military Academy. In early September, The ENQUIRER reported that Rosie threw a hissy-fit at her son’s high school registration because she was asked to wait in line. The 49-year-old entertainer fumed and got her way – jumping the line and anger¬ing other students’ parents who were trying to enroll their kids.
“So far Parker is doing great at his new school – apart from the ridicule his mother is causing,” said the source. “It’s been difficult for Rosie to see her oldest son growing up and turning into a young man. “She has to realize he doesn’t need his mother’s constant attention – or her embarrassing care packages.”
