ROSEANNE BARR TO THE VIEW?

Comedy queen ROSEANNE BARR could come out of semi-retirement to fill Rosie O’Donnell’s vacant seat on “The View.”

The 62-year-old funny lady – today a macadamia nut farmer in Hawaii – is keen to join the daytime gabfest, TV sources have told The National ENQUIRER.

“Roseanne’s talking to some people about it – behind-the-scenes-type stuff,” dished an insider. “She’s talked about it for years, and has been a popular guest host on the show.”

Back in 2007, during Rosie’s first stint on “The View,” Roseanne mused to The ENQUIRER about replacing Rosie if she walked away.

Ever the jokester, Roseanne told us then: “I don’t know if I’d be a good replacement. Wouldn’t they want someone less crazy? Like calmer? That’s not me!”

Now with Rosie off “The View” due to health woes and her split from wife Michelle Rounds, Roseanne has another shot. And insiders said if Roseanne is serious, show execs are likely to respond favorably since she’s a favorite with “The View” audience, and once topped a viewer poll as a potential co-host.

But Roseanne may be too similar to her pal Rosie, who clashed with co-hosts and relied too heavily on serious political topics.

“Roseanne is no shrinking violet and she’s very political herself,” said our source, citing the former sitcom star’s unsuccessful 2012 campaign for the White House.

“Also, she’d have to move to New York City if she truly wanted the job.”
