The artist who created kid vid faves ROCKY & BULLWINKLE with producer pal Jay Ward, ALEXANDER ANDERSON, Jr., has died. Anderson was 90, his son, told the LA Times, that he passed Friday after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Revealing to many the origin of TV’s beloved moose and squirrel, Anderson ‘teamed up with his childhood BFF and  University of California, Berkeley, frat brother Jay Ward to make low-budget TV cartoons.

Their creations also included Crusader Rabbit and Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties.

The syndicated Crusader Rabbit became the first animated TV series in the 1950s and inspiring rival studio Hanna- Barbera to launch their own limited-animation series.

Rocky and His Friends
debuted in 1959 on ABC-TV and has been constantly in syndication ever since.
