Richie Sambora was arrested for DUI in Laguna Beach, Calif. on Monday night. The Bon Jovi guitarist was pulled over for driving erratically and then failed field sobriety tests. After being taken into custody, Sambora reportedly took a blood test (rather than a a breathalyzer) to guage his alcohol level and was held for DUI. He was released around 4 am.
“He was very cooperative with all the staff,” Laguna Beach police Sgt. Jason Kravetz said. Sambora was given notice to appear in court May 7 on one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, according to Kravetz.
Sambora’s 10-year-old daughter, Ava, was reportedly in the car when Sambora was pulled over and according to TMZ the rocker could be charged with child endangerment. In addition to Ava, Sambora’s girlfriend and another minor were in the Hummer he was driving.
Sambora, who is divorced from Heather Locklear (Ava’s mom) and has dated Denise Richards, has done two stints in rehab.
